Almario was a 2004 draft selection of the New York Yankees and spend two years in the minor leagues. In 2006, he played for the Calgary Vipers, then of the Northern League. Over the last two years, Yosvany has wore the maroon of the Yuma Scorpions. A career .328 hitter, Almario can play almost every position on the field and has sneaky power. He slugged a career-high 11 home runs last year.
