In 2010 with the Lincoln Saltdogs, Nuñez hit .303 in 97 games. He set a career high with 22 home runs and drove in a career-best 82 runs. Nuñez was signed by the Arizona Diamondbacks as a nondrafted free agent in 1998 and spent time with the triple-A Tucson Sidewinders before being released in 2002. He was later signed for another short stint with the Diamondbacks, as a member of the high-A Lancaster Jethawks, before making his way into the independent league circuit in 2008.
